30 - Direct Debit brings fun to Dudley rent payers

Council house tenants in Dudley can win free days out to top tourist attractions by simply signing up to pay their housing rent by Direct Debit.

From August to November 2008 any tenant in the borough who signs up to Direct Debit to pay their housing rent will automatically receive tickets to local attractions.   These are for the Black Country Living Museum, Dudley Zoological Gardens and borough leisure centres.

This incentive forms part of a wider Dudley Council campaign encouraging residents to sign up to Direct Debit to pay their council bills by entering them into a monthly prize draw.

For most people paying by Direct Debit is not only easier but it is safe, secure and convenient.

Councillor Michael Evans, cabinet member for housing said:
“Many customers already use this payment method and I would encourage others to consider it too. We want to make it as easy as possible for people to pay their bills and thanks to borough attractions, residents can take advantage of great savings on leisure activities too.”
