18 - Dudley attraction tickets up for grabs with Direct Debit

Direct Debit campaign 2008

A new Direct Debit campaign will give borough residents the chance to win tickets to local tourist attractions.

Dudley Council is encouraging residents to pay their council tax and housing rent by Direct Debit.

It has enlisted the help of a character called Direct Dave who will appear in a series of adverts, posters and leaflets across the borough this summer.

As part of the campaign residents who pay their council tax or housing rent by Direct Debit are in with a chance of winning tickets to local attractions each month including the Black Country Living Museum, Dudley Zoological Gardens and borough leisure centres .

The campaign will run between July and December 2008 and will also highlight the benefits of paying by direct debit, such as no queues, no chance of missing payments and being one less thing for hard-pressed customers to have to remember.

To find out more you can call Dudley Council Plus on 01384 812345 for housing rent or 01384 818000 for council tax.

Councillor Anne Millward, cabinet member for finance, said:

“We are pleased to work with tourist attractions and the draw is a fun way of encouraging people to enjoy a day out in the borough and for us to get a serious message across.  For most customers paying by direct debit is much easier it’s also secure, simple and convenient.”
