21 - Dudley Wood Library Link coming soon

Residents are reminded that the borough’s first new library link in Dudley Wood will open in just over a week.

The new facility will open on July 28 at Dudley Wood Neighbourhood Learning Centre, replacing the existing library on Bush Road, which will close on July 26.

The Library Link will provide more than 1,500 books, computer access and a personal service from library staff for at least 10 hours a week.  Dudley Wood’s established reading group for adults and the chatter books reading group for younger people will relocate to the library link along with rattle and rhyme. There are also plans for a new homework club.

The library link will include the borough’s first self issue kiosk.  With touch screen technology, it’s easy to use and will free up staff time to help library link users get the most out of the service.

Councillor Michael Evans, the cabinet member responsible for libraries, said:
“This is an exciting new service for residents within the Dudley Wood area and I would urge them to come along once it opens to find out for themselves what their Library Link has to offer.”
