People are reminded that they can now view information on how Dudley Council and its partners propose to respond to major incidents.
The council has a responsibility to prepare a contingency plan on how it would respond to emergency situations as part of a co-ordinated multi-agency response.
Dudley’s Major Emergency Plan can now be viewed at borough libraries or by visiting www.dudley.gov.uk/emergencies.
The council is committed to ensuring the community is informed and prepared for any civil emergencies. This preparation helps ensure that in the event of an emergency the authority, along with partners such as the emergency services, reacts appropriately, effectively and efficiently to minimise the impact on the community and restore normality.
Emergency planning in Dudley has always been carried out in close co-operation among partners and the introduction of the Civil Contingencies Act (CCA) 2004 has strengthened this partnership approach.
