A unique collection of glass dresses will be on display at Broadfield House Glass Museum from Saturday 19 July.
Renowned artist Diana Dias-Leão has created the stunning pieces from glass, ceramics and textiles to form her Danger of the Image exhibition.
The catwalk creations are regarded as one of the highlights for the International Festival of Glass, which is taking place in the Stourbridge Glass Quarter from 22 to 25 August.
Originally from Scarborough but now based in London, Diana created the pieces as an exploration of personal identity, beauty and human behaviour. The artist, who has studied fashion and glass, will also give a talk at the museum’s Fashion Friday on Friday 22 August at 2pm.
To accompany the dresses, which are made for display only, there will be a display of unusual glass jewellery by various leading artists, some of which will be on sale.
Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for environment and culture, said:
“This artist’s work is simply fantastic and carries powerful messages about image and inner beauty.
“I’m sure lots of people will want to see the collection and it is a great honour for the glass museum to host it.”
Broadfield House Glass Museum is on Compton Drive in Kingswinford. The museum is open from noon to 4pm and admission is free. For further information call 01384 812745 or visit www.glassmuseum.org.uk.
