Youngsters itching to get out their buckets and spades will be able to head down to the famous ‘HimleyBeach’ throughout the summer holiday.
Himley Park is keeping the 120 tons of play sand, enjoyed by thousands at its recent Under 5’s fun day, throughout the school holiday.
Youngsters will be able to create their sandcastle masterpieces on the beach which has been fenced off to ensure it is safe and clean.
Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for environment and culture, said:
“The ‘Himley Beach’ has been a favourite attraction at the Under 5’s fun day for several years. As a summer-time treat for local children we keep the ‘beach’ throughout July and August. All the youngsters have to do is bring their bucket and spade for a fantastic fun day out!”
Most weekend afternoons throughout the summer months, the Oak Tea Room in Himley Hall offers light refreshments including cream teas and cakes.
Admission to the hall and park is free. Car parking charges apply.
