Families are being urged to take the plunge and sign up to swimming pool sessions in Halesowen as part of a summer of sports.
Halesowen Leisure Centre is staging a number of activities in the pool as part of Dudley Council’s Summer Sportszone programme.
It includes swimming lessons for beginners, mother and toddler classes and aqua fun sessions with large inflatables.
Summer Sportszone is a packed programme of activities at leisure centres and parks across the borough.
Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for culture and environment, said:
“There’s a wide range of activities at Halesowen Leisure Centre which we hope will keep people entertained and active over the summer.”
Beginner swimming lessons for youngsters aged four and over are made up of one-week courses of 30 minutes each day. They run from August 4-22, starting at 9am and cost £20 a week.
The mother and toddler sessions run every Wednesday 10.30-11.30am and Friday 11.30am-12.30pm, and cost £3.90.
Aqua fun runs Monday to Saturday, 1.30-3pm. There are also dance mat classes Monday to Friday 11am-noon for eight to 11-year-olds and noon-1pm for 11-16-year-olds.
Sessions are open to people of all ages and abilities and coaches have specialist disability training.
