9 - Summer of sports for youngsters in Stourbridge

Youngsters in Stourbridge are in for a treat this summer with a packed programme of fun for the school holidays.
 
Crystal Leisure Centre has a range of activities for families as part of Dudley Council’s Summer Sportszone programme.
 
It includes gymnastics, under 5s gym and play sessions, roller disco, swimming lessons and a parent and toddler swimming group.
 
There’s also the popular fun pool with the waves and the rapids to keep swimmers entertained.
 
Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for environment and culture, said:
 
“We have something for everyone at Crystal Leisure Centre over the summer.
 
“It is a great way for youngsters to keep busy and active over the school holidays.”
 
The gymnastics sessions cater for people children aged five to 15, and run on July 23, 30 and August 6 from noon-1pm and 1-2pm. Admission is £4 per session. Booking is essential at main reception.
 
The under 5s gym and play sessions run July 23, 30 and August 6, from 9.45-10.45am, and cost £2.60 per session. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
 
Jerry’s Roller Disco will take place on July 28 as well as August 4 and 11, from 1.30-3.30pm. It is open to all ages and costs £3.50. Skates can be hired for 50p or people can bring their own.
 
Swimming lessons take place from July 28-August 1 and August 4-8, and cost £20 per week. The classes start from 9.30am.
 
There are also swimming sessions for parent and toddlers on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 2–2.30pm. They take place from July 23-August 28, and cost £4 each visit.
 
The leisure pool is also open from Monday to Thursday, as well as Saturday and Sunday, 9am-6pm.  It is open until 9pm on Fridays with the popular Bondi Beat water disco held from 6.30–9pm.
