A new children’s centre in Stourbridge is giving parents and carers a chance to find out more at a special viewing day next week.
Hob Green Children’s Centre will start to offer a range of services and activities in the autumn, but staff would like to give local families and other interested parties a sneak preview of the site on Wednesday, July 9.
The centre, next to Hob Green Primary School in Pedmore, will be open from 11am to 5pm for people to pop in and find out more about the aims of a children’s centre and the kind of help and support available.
Hob Green Children’s Centre will offer a range of activities for children aged from birth to five and their parents and carers. Among the services planned are stay and play sessions, parents drop-ins, training, health advice and employment support.
Hob Green Children’s Centre is one of 17 similar centres being developed across the borough.
Six centres, which were set up under a first phase of development, are up and running in Brierley Hill, Wren’s Nest, Priory, Kates Hill, Lye and Netherton.
Eleven new centres are being created under a second phase of development and are located at a number of sites across the borough; they will start to offer services to local communities during 2008.
