Dudley Leisure Centre is set to unveil its half a million pound revamp in the next few weeks, it was announced today.
The centre’s gym has undergone a major overhaul as part of a modernisation plan for health and fitness facilities at a number of leisure centres.
It includes doubling the size of the gym at the Wellington Road complex and bringing in new equipment. High tech data keys are also being introduced which will record the fitness progress of users. There will also be a replacement reception area and new signs.
Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for environment and culture, said:
“This is a huge investment in our leisure centres and will provide fantastic new facilities for our visitors.
“Work is underway and we are hoping it will be open in the next few weeks.”
The improvement plan is part of a £1.4million investment which also includes Halesowen and Crystal leisure centres.
