Pupils from a Halesowen school will be recognised for their hard work at a local park this week.
Huntingtree Primary School, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, will have a commemorative plaque dedicated to it at Huntingtree park on 27 June.
Working with the Friends of the Park group the pupils have carried out a number of improvements in the park. A border of daffodil bulbs was created around the bowling green and 350 different shrubs were planted there in March. The pupils also built bird boxes in their technology lessons and helped to put these up around the site.
The enamel and metal plaque has been designed using the artwork of three pupils and has been created by borough artist, Steve Field.
Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for environment and culture, said:
“The work the pupils have carried out at the park will bring pleasure to many people. The contributions made by all the people involved is a great example of community spirit and they can be very proud of the improvements they have made.”
