Residents of Tanhouse Estate, Halesowen, are looking forward to a new place to relax following the official opening of their park next week.
The park, at the end of Teme Road, Halesowen, includes a grassed area, shrubs and benches and sits on a former concrete play area, which was closed due to health and safety concerns.
The project has been created as part of a consultation exercise with residents by their tenants & residents association.
Councillor Michael Evans, cabinet member for housing, said:
“Green areas are very important as they provide spaces for residents to relax and for children to play. Tenants and residents associations provide estates with their own voice to communicate with the council and an opportunity to control the running of their estate. Tanhouse TRA is just one of our 50+ tenants groups across the borough.”
The park officially opens at 2.00pm on Saturday 28 June and free refreshments will be provided to children attending.
