Wrosne tickets on sale now

An eagerly awaited ‘underground’ show in Dudley is set to take its audience on a journey into the unknown when it takes to the stage next month.

Tickets for ‘Wrosne – An Underground Experience’, which will be staged during July in the breath-taking singing cavern under Dudley, are now on sale.

The story follows an eager group of youngsters at the launch of a new nightclub and features 60 teenagers from the Wren’s Nest and Priory estates working with professionals.

The shows will start from the visitor centre at the Black Country Living Museum. Spectators will then be taken down through the museum to Dudley Canal Trust where they will be taken into the caverns on canal boats.

There will be two performances each evening on July 20, 21, 23 and 25, featuring music, rama, singing, dance, storytelling and special effects, each catering for 100 spectators.

Leaps and Bounds, which was responsible for the highly successful Ballet Hoo! screened on Channel 4 last year, is behind Wrosne together with Dudley Council and Arts Council England.

Councillor David Caunt, leader of Dudley Council, said:
“Wrosne promises to be much more than simply an amazing underground performance. The project is a programme of radical personal development for dozens of young people who have been brought together from two estates in Dudley.

“Many of the young performers have taken a step into the unknown by doing this but I’m sure they will put on a show to remember.”

Tickets for the July shows are now available from Dudley box office on 01384 812812.
