Dudley Leisure Centre is set to see massive improvements to its facilities thanks to a £320,000 investment from Dudley Council.
The council run facility will see a considerable extension to its gym thanks to the investment, which is aided by a further £80,000 investment through the council’s partnership with Alliance Leisure Services.
Work to the facilities will begin at the end of the month and is expected to take up to 12 weeks. Members will receive a 50% discount during the work, which may disrupt some of the usual services.
New equipment will include state-of-the-art cardiovascular equipment with personalised Freeview TVs and high quality resistance equipment. Special data keys allowing members to follow their own fitness programme and record their progress will also be available and lockers will be changed so that they are free of charge.
Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for the environment, said:
“Dudley Leisure Centre has an experienced and qualified team that are committed to helping members achieve results.
“Our new facilities will help us to improve our very popular gym by providing even more equipment for members.”
