A special nappy session is being held on Wednesday 2 April to encourage parents living in the borough to make the switch from disposables to washable nappies.
The Dudley Council led session is taking place at Dudley Council Plus from 10.30am to 12pm. It will promote the council’s real nappy incentive scheme, which enables parents living in the borough to claim £30 when they spend over £50 on washable nappies.
The session, part of a series of events, will also raise awareness of the national Real Nappy Week, which runs from Monday 21 to Sunday 27 April.
The average parent in Dudley could save up to £550 on their first child by making the switch, with greater savings if the nappies are reused on younger siblings.
In the UK alone, eight million disposable nappies are thrown away everyday, meaning the average baby will fill about 40 rubbish bins before he or she is potty trained.
