Archived news release from 2008

People will have the opportunity to discuss the future sports and leisure facilities in Cradley at a meeting next week.

The meeting will be held on 17 March at 6pm at Cradley High School.  It will allow people to find out about the options for leisure provision in the area following the decision to close Cradley High from August this year.  The school site includes playing fields and a sports hall and the meeting will focus on the future of the facilities.

Councillor Liz Walker, cabinet member of children’s services will chair the meeting and will be joined by assistant director of children’s services Ray Watson and assistant director of culture and community services.  They will listen to the public’s views before taking a decision on the future of the site.

The meeting is being held at Cradley High School, Homer Hill, Halesowen on 17 March at 6pm.

Councillor Liz Walker, cabinet member for children’s services said:

“The meeting is an opportunity to discuss plans for future use of the facilities when the school closes at the end of August.  I would encourage anyone who has an interest in the plans to come along and share their views at the meeting.”
