A 21-year-old man who failed to clean up after his dog has landed a court bill of more than £250.
David Randle, of Norfolk Road, Wollaston, pleaded guilty to failing to clean up after his dog when he appeared at Dudley Magistrates Court last Thursday (Mar 6).
Randle was seen by police community support officers on June 27 last year failing to clean up after his dog on a grassed area at Crosswalks in Lye.
Randle was issued with a fixed penalty fine which he failed to pay. This was then followed up by enforcement officers at Dudley Council and Randle was prosecuted for the offence.
Magistrates fined him £90 and ordered him to pay £150 and £15 victim support.
Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for the environment, said:
“This is yet another example of Dudley Council showing we simply will not tolerate irresponsible dog owners in the borough. We have enforcement officers and PCSOs in the borough who will not hesitate to issue fines to these people who fail to show respect to the environment and to other people living in the borough. I’m sure this fine will act as a warning to others to clean up after their dog.”
