28-Paperweight Day

 

Studio glass artist Siddy Langley is the star attraction at this year’s event and she will be demonstrating paperweight making in a contemporary style.  Siddy has nearly 30 years experience of glassmaking and runs her own workshop in Devon where she creates a wide range of decorative glass. 

 

Other attractions on the day include an exclusive exhibition of over 100 weights inspired by nature, spanning all dates and styles.  The exhibition has been organised by the Paperweight Collectors Circle (PCC), who will be in attendance on the day.  Visitors are invited to bring along their own weights for identification by the expert members of the PCC. 

 

There will be also be a wide range of paperweights for sale from some of the country’s leading dealers, including Sweetbriar Gallery, Bob Hall, October Days, Just Glass and Weights ‘n’ Things (Bernd Horst and Ian Cummings). 

 

The gift shop at the museum is well stocked with specialist glass and paperweight books for anyone who wants to improve their knowledge, and there will also be a refreshments stand by The Friends of Broadfield House.
