19 - Birds of prey day

The Leasowes park is teaming up with the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) next weekend to celebrate local birds of prey.

Next Saturday 24 May there is an open invitation to visit The Leasowes and have a chance to see birds of prey which can be spotted across the park.  Buzzards, sparrowhawks, kestrels are regularly seen and RSPB staff will offer visitors the chance to view the birds through their spotting telescopes.  There will also be a variety of craft activities for participants.

Activities start at 10.30am and finish at 4pm at The Leasowes, off Mucklow Hill, Halesowen.  For more information call 01384 814642 or Hollie/Lisa at the RSPB on 0121 616 6850.

Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for environment and culture, said:

“We are looking forward to a fantastic day with the expert assistance of the RSPB and we hope that we can inspire our visitors and get people enthusiastic about birds.”
