An open event offering advice on housing issues held at the recent St George’s Day celebrations in Sedgley has been hailed a huge success.
During the St George’s Day celebrations at Sedgley on the 26 April, North Dudley council tenants had an opportunity to attend an Open House Forum with a difference.
The housing services team saw the celebrations as a great opportunity to hold an open air event at Vicar Street Gardens. It was supported by officers and representatives of the Beacon Hill and Oval & Tudor tenants and residents associations, who were able to offer advice on housing issues and explain opportunities for tenants to become involved.
Partner, Energyextra, were also on hand to provide residents with information about how to reduce the cost of their fuel bills.
Linda Sanders, director of adult, community & housing services, said:
‘Area Forums are held in each of our five Areas and give residents the opportunity to hear from invited speakers on a wide range of topics and also to raise any issues which are important to them. They are a great opportunity for our tenants to have a real say in the issues that affect them .and to influence the delivery of the service.
