More than 200 Dudley Council employees celebrated their achievements at a prestigious ceremony on the 22nd May.
Staff from the directorate of adult, community and housing services were recognised for their hard work gaining qualifications during the past year at the annual event.
At the evening Alex Francis, aged 22, from the Walk Depot in Sedgley, was named apprentice of the year. Alex is currently in the fifth and final year of his apprenticeship, specialising in bricklaying and carpentry.
The Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Ray Burston joined leader of the council Councillor David Caunt, cabinet members, councillors Michael Evans and Peter Miller and director of adult, community and housing services Linda Sanders at the event.
Councillor Ray Burston, the Mayor of Dudley, said: “It was fantastic to see so many employees of Dudley Council receiving awards for all their hard work in the last year.
“The annual awards are a great opportunity to celebrate our employees’ successes. They have all demonstrated a positive attitude, dedication and commitment to improving their skills to continue providing a high quality service to borough residents. Well done to all.”
