13 - Breast aware for Sedgley

Archived news release from 2008

Women in the north of Dudley borough are invited to learn how to become more breast aware at an event in Sedgley.

On Tuesday 14 October a partnership event is being held at Sedgley Youth Centre in Tipton Street, Sedgley, from 2pm to 6pm to provide advice about breast care.  Every year more than 12,300* women die from breast cancer in the UK, with Dudley Borough having an above average mortality rate**.

The theme for the day will be the ‘pink’ campaign to raise awareness of this life threatening illness, with all monies being raised going to the breast cancer charity.

Activities available on the day include sampling healthy ‘pink’ food, mini pamper experiences, a clothes swap, as well as many more fun things to do.

The event is being organised by Dudley Council’s community renewal team, community learning coordinators and North Dudley youth service, to support the national Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
