Archived news release from 2008

Town centres across Dudley will be filled with fun for youngsters during the half-term school holidays.

A range of activities are being planned for Dudley, Halesowen, Brierley Hill and Stourbridge during the school break next month (OCT).

Families visiting Brierley Hill on October 28 will be able to learn circus skills with Rumples workshops. The sessions are free to take part and open to children of all ages.

Clowns Abby and T Bags will be entertaining children with balloon modelling and face painting on October 31, and there will also be fair rides for young children.

A climbing wall will be set up in Halesowen town centre on October 28 and is free to take part. Instructors will be on hand to supervise climbers.

Abby and T Bags will be popping in to Halesowen on October 30, along with the fun fair for young children.

The popular climbing wall will be stopping off in Dudley town centre on October 27. There will be donkey rides and costumed stilt walkers who will be performing street theatre entertainment on October 29.

Stourbridge will be hosting the climbing wall on October 31.

All events run from 11am-3pm.

Councillor Malcolm Knowles, cabinet member for regeneration, said:

“There’s so much going on in our town centres for youngsters over the half term school break. We hope as many people as possible will come and join in the fun.”
