Families from across the borough have the chance to take part in a two day exploration of their heritage as part of Black History Month celebration in Dudley.
Dudley family learning will be helping British born youths of West Indian descent to learn more about their heritage on October 28 and 29. Activities will include families working together to create a booklet of their research and turning their findings into a CD and even printing a T-shirt using their own designs.
People will also get the opportunity to put their work in Dudley archives as a contribution to Dudley's black history.
Councillor Michael Evans, cabinet member for adult, community and housing, said:
“Although the main aim is to influence and educate the black youth, the project is open to all members of the community who would like to know more about the West Indies.
“The fun filled event will hopefully light people’s flame to research more and enjoy family learning.”
To get involved come along to The Savoy Centre, Northfield Road, Netherton between 10am and 3pm on October 28 and 29.
