10 - Family friendly festival activities at libraries

Dudley libraries are hosting a jam-packed programme of activities during October to celebrate this year’s family learning festival.
Highlights of the month include storytelling at Dudley Zoo, poet performances by Craig Bradley and big picture parties.
There will be storytelling sessions on Saturday October 11 at Dudley Zoo from 11am to 3pm with more spooky stories later in the month (on Saturday October 30) to celebrate Halloween.
Storytelling sessions will also take place next Saturday (October 18) at Brierley Hill Library from 2.15pm to 3pm.
Later in the month, performance poet Craig Bradley will visit two of the borough’s libraries, popular comic artist Kev Sutherland will return and children can also go along to big picture parties to celebrate the wonderful illustrations in picture books.
All libraries will also host pirate themed crafts and story sessions during half term week. People can call their nearest library for details.
Councillor Michael Evans, cabinet member responsible for libraries, said:
“Dudley libraries are delighted to be involved in this year’s family learning festival and are hosting just some of the many activities taking place this year to encourage families to learn together. Families can also look forward to drumming, belly dancing and much more at neighbourhood learning centres and schools.”
