17 - New fish take the plunge at Himley pool

Archived news release from 2008

New fish are being added to the pool at Himley Park to boost stock.

The Great Pool is being re-stocked with 400 tench next week to replace ageing supplies.

The fish range in size from eight to 10inches and will be transported in a special container by experts Cob House Fisheries on October 24.

Councillor Karen Shakespeare, cabinet member for environment and culture, said:

“These are high quality fish and once they are in their new home they should provide some great fishing.

“This pool is one of the best in the Midlands and it is very important we maintain its excellent standards with this new addition of fish.”

Fishing at Himley Park costs £4.80 per day, and anglers need an Environment Agency rod licence.
