24 - Phased opening of road

Archived news release from 2008

A phased opening of the newly constructed parallel route in Brierley Hill will take place on Monday.

The final commissioning of signals and roads will take place on Monday (27 Oct) during the morning.

The first lights to be switched on will be at the new junction at Asda Brierley Hill followed by all other signals along the route.

Councillor Angus Adams, cabinet member for transportation, said:
“The phased switch on of all junctions will allow us to carry out a final check of the signals before the road opens fully around lunchtime.

“I would advise motorists and other road users to take care in the area while new road layouts and signals are observed.”

The official opening of the new road will take place on November 6 2008.

Partners include: construction partner Carillion, Waterman Civils, Brierley Hill Regeneration Partnership (BHRP) and Westfield.
