Most common questions asked about our online forms are answered here, but please contact us if you wish to report a technical problem
-
Have all your information ready before you begin. For example, when making a job application you need your NI number, qualification details, past and present employment details, referee information, etc.
-
Do not use any of the following characters if you paste details from a word processor:
-
Our older forms convert any unrecognised characters to question marks (?). This is a limitation of the character set dealt with by the form.
-
If you use the keyboard to move between fields on a page, use 'Tab' rather than the 'space' bar.
-
To move forward or back between the pages of a form, use the Next or Previous (or Back) buttons located near the bottom of the page.
-
If you use the Back or Forward buttons provided by your internet browser by mistake, usually arrows in the top left hand corner, your page may expire. If it does, try the browser Refresh button and then select Retry to return to the form.
Some forms accept an online payment (Pay Now).
This facility is not available from 7:45 pm to 8:15 pm, Monday to Saturday.
If you attempt to pay online during these times your payment will fail.
Payments are handled by a standard payment form, so some information, such as your name and address, may need to be entered again.
PayPal is not available.
Some of our forms require a signature. To help you, these forms put your details into a PDF which you can print, sign, and return by hand or by post.
However, if you have a slow connection (non-broadband) your completed PDF may not download. In this instance, we suggest you download the blank version of the PDF if one is available.
This problem has been noted with Internet Explorer 7 but may affect other browsers.
Note: download of blank PDFs from other parts of the site is not affected by this issue.
