National Express West Midlands is currently undertaking a review of their South Birmingham bus network, and they are now out to public consultation regarding services. The area that is being reviewed is between Bristol Road and Warwick Road, but also includes Longbridge, Rubery, Frankley and Allens Cross.
The bus network has become slower and less reliable, and National Express is working with TfWM and Birmingham City Council on possible highway and signal mitigation measures. They are looking to provide faster, more reliable, and more punctual journeys across this part of the network, and are seeking views on what a potentially redesigned bus network should look like.
National Express is not presenting completed solutions as part of this consultation, but rather a number of options and ideas for routes, sections of routes and areas.
The consultation is open until 21 August 2017 and can be found at the following link:
If you have any views on services in the South Birmingham area, please follow the above link to the consultation and have your say.
