Brierley Hill Town Centre

A wealth of diversity in Dudley Borough

Situated at the heart of Dudley Borough, Brierley Hill has plenty to offer from wallet-busting shopping opportunities to a relaxing canalside dining experience. Brierley Hill is home to the famous Merry Hill Centre, bringing all the big name stores under one roof for an unbeatable day's shopping. Add this to the town's bustling High Street and three indoor markets and you can see the appeal Brierley Hill holds for the serious shopaholic!

On a more relaxing note, the bars and restaurants of The Waterfront can be the ideal place to spend a few hours, whether you're lazing in the summer sunshine beside the waters of the Dudley canal over a leisurely lunch or enjoying some of the best nightlife to be found in the Midlands. Brierley Hill has several first-class restaurants, including Faradays at the Copthorne Hotel and the Brewer's Wharf at The Waterfront, Frankie and Benny's or the highly-regarded Royal Adeel Balti House on the High Street.

Black Delph marked the division between Stourbridge Canal and Dudley Canal, with an impressive flight of locks climbing straight up the hill. They are known locally as the Nine Locks, although, mysteriously there are only eight! Halfway up is a block of stables once used for boat horses and nearby the former lock-keeper's cottage can be seen.

Delph Road in Brierley Hill is known as the 'Real Ales Riviera' of Dudley and is home to an impressive number of pubs within short stagger, including the famous Vine, known locally as the Bull and Bladder and is the brewery tap for Bathams Ales. The Nine locks run parallel to the road and provide a pleasant walk through a conservation area.
