Freedom of Information Act 2000
Dudley MBC is situated in the south-west of the West Midlands conurbation and is generally a mix of industry, commerce, shops and residential areas.
Dudley lies at the heart of the Black Country, a part of England unique in terms of its cultural and economic heritage. Rather than being dominated by one major centre, Dudley is composed of a number of small townships, each having its own identity and culture. The main towns are Dudley itself, Stourbridge in the south-west, Halesowen to the south and east and Brierley Hill in the middle of the Borough.
The Borough has a resident total of over 305,000.
Dudley has a Council Plan which concerns itself with meeting the aspirations of the Council's overall vision "Local People Matter". The plan sets out the key priorities, objectives and targets for six key themes:

The Local Government Act established the Governments proposals to improve local services through BEST VALUE.
Dudley MBC has:
The Freedom of Information Act will enable the Council to build on this process by giving customers, clients and local taxpayers additional tools to be able to be proactively involved in local government and also, by positively encouraging openness of government and access to information.
