What is DFTRA?
Dudley Federation of Tenant & Residents Associations (DFTRA) was established in 1991 from a Chair's and Secretary's organisation. It became an umbrella forum that represents Tenant & Residents Associations from across the Dudley Borough. DFTRA has a close working relationship with numerous partner agencies and actively encourages local communities to participate in the decision making process. DFTRA offers communities the chance to have one united voice. We are a charitable company limited by guarantee. This enables the group to access a range of funding streams and protects the community from liability.
DFTRA's primary role is to offer support and representation to Tenant & Resident Associations (TRA's) and in addition engage the wider community through partnership working. DFTRA's main objectives are as follows:
Assist and support member Tenant & Resident Groups through the provision of advice guidance, information, resources and training.
Facilitate the development of new local tenant & resident groups in areas without representation within the Borough of Dudley.
Ensure adequate amenities are available to member groups in the interests of social welfare
All training packages are delivered jointly by DFTRA and Participation Development Team, Directorate of Adult, Community and Housing Services.
