The leader of Dudley Council has visited a Dudley town centre construction site to officially break ground where a new £24m Very Light Rail National Innovation Centre is being built.
New pictures released today show the first sections of track have been laid as part of the pioneering multi-million Very Light Rail (VLR) development in the borough.
The leader of Dudley Council has heralded a “pivotal and exciting moment” in Dudley’s economic future, with construction work to develop the Very Light Rail National Innovation Centre getting underway.
Dudley’s council leader has today welcomed written confirmation the government is to contribute nearly £13m to get the ‘exciting and innovative’ Very Light Rail back on track.
Plans to pioneer Very Light Rail technology in the borough and put Dudley on the national map are “under threat”, the leader of the council said today.
