With temperatures expected to plummet this weekend, Dudley Council is urging people to be its eyes and ears and report anyone who may be sleeping rough.
“Tackling homelessness is a priority for us every day of the year but on World Homelessness Day, it gives us the opportunity to take stock of what we’ve achieved and look at how we can eradicate homelessness in our borough in the future” says Councillor Laura Taylor, Dudley Council’s cabinet member for housing, communities and residents’ welfare.
As a heat wave grips the region, local people are urged to report anyone who they think may be sleeping rough, to ensure they get offered help and support.
Dudley Council is set to support a local charity, which helps to house young people, as part of its multi-million pound project to build new council homes.
