Advice surgeries suspended - but councillors still available by phone
Advice surgeries hosted by councillors in the borough to help residents with problems or concerns are being suspended due to the coronavirus crisis.
Council bosses have agreed the move in line with government orders regarding social distancing and only leaving homes when absolutely necessary.
Councillors will still be available to discuss concerns with residents over the phone.
Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of the council, said:
Elected members are still working hard to support their local residents in these troubled and unprecedented times.
We are following all Government advice very closely, and as such it is the right thing to suspend planned advice surgeries.
Further information will be issued on when these may be resumed as and when we can.
