All the fun of the Brier Fair
Live music, funfair rides and street entertainment will get Brierley Hill booming this weekend with the return of the Brier Fair.
Now in its third year, the popular event which runs as part of the month-long Black Country Festival is back with a bang on Saturday from 9am to 4pm along Cottage Street.
There will be entertainment from top local acts on the Black Country Radio stage throughout the day. There will also be market stalls, children’s activities including face painting, street entertainment and a funfair, with stuff also going on around the Moor Centre in the town.
Black Country Radio will be broadcasting throughout the day from the event.
Councillor David Stanley, the Mayor of Dudley, said:
Thousands turned out to enjoy The Brier Fair last year and I’m hoping it will be an equally big hit with residents this weekend.
Events like these help local people come together, have fun and celebrate all that’s great about the Black Country.
This event is arranged by Dudley Council with the support of Asda Brierley Hill, which has contributed £1,000 towards the fair this year, and other traders in the town.
Cottage Street and part of Little Cottage Street will be closed on the day from 6am to 7pm so the event can go ahead safely. Access to the Little Cottage Street car park will be via Venture Way.
