Event organisers are making final preparations for two huge events taking place at Himley Hall and Park this week.

Dudley Council’s Under 5s Day will take place at the park on Friday (28 June) and Armed Forces Day will be held on Sunday (30 June).

Peppa Pig and her brother George will add a superstar feel to Under 5s Day, which will feature activities and entertainment for children under the age of five from 10am to 3pm.

Sponsored by 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan, the event will include Music Bugs, Rugby Tots, Creation Station, Baby Ballet, Moo Music, Baby Glowbugs, Mini First Aid, Baby and Toddler Sensory and animal corner with giant tortoises.

Himley Hall and Park’s very own beach, complete with giant sandpit, buckets and spades and Punch and Judy Shows, an appearance from entertainer Mad Dom, train rides and a children’s funfair will also add to the event.

Armed Forces Day, run in association with Black Country Radio, will celebrate the work of service men and women past and present on Sunday from 11am to 5pm.

Entertainment for all the family including vintage fairground rides, Punch and Judy shows and craft, food and vintage stalls will be on offer. A large display of historic military vehicles will return to the grounds and an original WW2 Dakota will fly past at 1.20pm (weather permitting).

Pete’s War Time Show and Victory Gal Melissa will keep the crowds entertained in the park with classic war time era songs and stories. There will also be paint balling provided by Dudley Army Cadet Force and an archery range, provided by Kingswinford Air Cadet Squadron.

Councillor David Stanley, Mayor of Dudley, said:

We have two fantastic events taking place at Himley Hall and Park this week and with good weather forecast I am sure little ones will make the most of the Under 5s Day beach.
Armed Forces Day allows us to reflect on the sacrifices that have been made by those who have served and those who continue to serve in our Armed Forces whilst offering a range of entertainment and activities in the park’s beautiful grounds.

This year’s Armed Forces Day is also supported by Fieldings Auctioneers and Thomas Jones Funfairs.

People can save up to 20 per cent on gate prices for admission to Under 5s Day by booking online in advance. Admission is free for Armed Forces Day, parking is free at both events. For more information visit www.himleyhallandpark.co.uk
