Clap for heroes for key workers and NHS staff again

Posted on:

Dudley Council House will be lit up in blue and green in support of the Clap for Heroes initiative, which will start tonight (Thursday 7 January).

Borough residents are once again being encouraged to open their doors and windows at 8pm to acknowledge the dedication of key workers and NHS staff who continue to deliver essential services in the latest resurgence of the coronavirus.

Councillor David Stanley, Mayor of Dudley, said:

This initiative is a re-creation of the Clap for Carers initiative which ran for ten weeks during the first national lockdown.
I would encourage all the residents in the borough to join in at 8pm and show our dedicated frontline staff once again how much we all appreciate them.
We must all do our part in tackling this virus by following government guidelines on staying at home, wherever it is possible, in order to protect the NHS and key workers to help save lives.

This will be the first of weekly Clap for Heroes to take place every Thursday evening.
