Cones call for crafty stallholders

Posted on:

The Red House and White House Glass Cones in Wordsley are looking for stallholders to attend their annual Christmas festival and craft fair in November.

The two day festival on November 24 and 25 is a joint project between the two venues, and there are still some spaces available for stallholders at both the Teenage Market at the Red House and the craft fair at the White House Cone.

The craft fair is for makers and traders who specialise in unique crafts, including jewellery, cards, bags, candles and more. The Teenage Market gives young people aged 13 to 23 the opportunity to showcase their talents and test out their business skills in a supportive, commercial environment.

It’s always a busy time, with hundreds of people visiting the festival each day. As well as the craft fair there will be open craft studios, glass bauble decorating, glassblowing demonstrations and glass fusion sessions. Santa and Mrs Claus will also be dropping by to visit over the weekend.

The Christmas Tree festival will be up and running at the Red House Glass Cone from Sunday 18 November, adding to the festive theme. Groups and organisations from the local area will be decorating trees around the historic site in a range of styles.

Councillor Keiran Casey, cabinet member for regeneration and enterprise said:

The Christmas Festival is always incredibly popular, and really helps people to enter into the festive spirit. There are crafts to do, stalls to visit, glassblowing demonstrations to watch and the chance to see Santa and Mrs Claus.
It also provides a platform for local people and young people in particular to showcase their creative and business skills, something that we should always support, encouraging the fantastic local talent we have in Dudley and helping them to develop their ideas and businesses, hopefully allowing them to also create extra income in the run up to Christmas.”

The festival runs from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free. Anyone interested in applying for a craft stall or finding out more should call 01384 812756 for details. For the Teenage Market, apply online at https://theteenagemarket.co.uk/
