Essential maintenance to payments
Due to essential maintenance of Dudley Council's payments system, no credit and debit card payments will be possible from 09:30 on Wednesday 19th February (including Callpay, online payments and card payments via DMBC Offices including Dudley Council Plus). It is hoped that work will be completed by the end of Wednesday 19th February at the very latest. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Children will soon be able to have even more fun at a Gornal park when new play equipment is installed as part of £66,000 of improvements.
The inclusive play equipment, play area safety surfacing, new bins, noticeboard and benches are being installed at Abbey Street Park, following consultation with ward members and the hardworking volunteer group Friends of Abbey Street Park.
As part of this funding a new footpath has also been installed along with a secure railing to deter vehicles driving onto the park.
The project is being funded by Section 106 money, which comes from developers carrying out work in the local area.
Councillor John Martin, Cabinet Member for Highways and Environment, said:
This new equipment sounds a fantastic addition to the Abbey Street Park and I’m sure it will be a huge attraction to families in the area.
We’re delighted we’re able to use S106 money from developers who are carrying out work in the area to improve the play facilities at this park for youngsters.”
Work on the play area is expected to start in April.
