Free courses on offer

Future classroom assistants, care staff, counsellors, caterers can sign up to free adult learning courses.

Dudley Neighbourhood Learning Centre has teamed up with Halesowen College to deliver an introductory course for those who are considering qualifications or careers in health and social care, classroom assistant and counselling. The free nine-week course will give people the skills needed to progress onto level two qualifications in the future.

Also, for those looking to work in the catering sector there will also be an opportunity to obtain a Food Hygiene Certificate for free.

Dudley Wood Neighbourhood Learning Centre, Netherton is hosting an enrolment and information event on Friday April 12, from 9.30am-12.30pm.

Additional opportunities are also available for people wishing to improve their maths and English skills.

Alan Lunt, director of Place directorate at Dudley Council, said:

We offer a range of courses where people can learn new skills and gain confidence in new areas. They are completely free and very popular, so people need to sign up quickly.”
