There’s still time for local organisations to bid for grants to help fund activities for children with disabilities and their families.
Local groups and organisations can apply to Dudley Council for funding through its small bids programme, which gives grants to help cover the cost of social activities outside of school hours.
Grants of up to £499 are available and can be used to cover a range of activities such as the cost of group transport for a trip, a fun holiday activity or venue hire.
Councillor Sue Ridney, cabinet member for children’s services, said:
Our small bids grants go some way in supporting activities to give children with disabilities and their families, fun and life-enhancing opportunities.
There’s still money left in the pot, which has to be committed by the end of March and we want to ensure every penny is spent and used to create wonderful memories and experiences for children and their families.
I would urge local groups and organisations to either get in touch to find out more or submit an application.”
In some cases, to be eligible, parents and/or the applying organisation must have contributed towards the cost of the activity.
The next deadline is 21 March 2019, though bids will be welcomed for the new round of funding from April 2019 onwards.
