With February half term just over a week away, Dudley leisure centre has lots planned to keep children busy and entertained.
The Dudley Council-run leisure centre is offering an intensive swimming course from Monday 17 to Friday 21 February for children aged five and over.
It includes five 30-minute lessons and costs £27.50 per child. Sessions start at 9am, 9.30am and 10.30. People are required to book in advance.
On Tuesday (18) and Thursday (20) it will also hold junior active zone sessions for children aged eight to 12.
Sessions run from 9am to 4pm and include swimming, crafts, multi skills activities and team games (football, rounders, basketball or badminton).
It costs £20 a day and people are advised to book in advance. A consent form must be completed for each child beforehand.
The centre, along with Crystal and Halesowen leisure centres, will also offer free swimming for children and young people aged 16 and under from Saturday 15 to Sunday 23 February. Exceptions apply on Saturday 22 February. Further information including how to register can be found at www.freeswimindudley.co.uk
Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member for leisure centres, said:
Our leisure centres provide a huge range of sports and activities to keep children busy during the school holidays. I’d urge parents and carers to make the most of the sessions on offer, including the return of the popular free swimming. I would remind people that this is a popular activity so can get very busy at peak times.
