New cabinet posts to reflect priorities for borough residents
The new leader of Dudley Council has announced a restructure of his cabinet with new portfolios.
Councillor Qadar Zada said he wanted the new posts to reflect the key priorities for residents in the borough.
They will be:
- Children and Young People
- Finance, Council Sustainability and Transformation
- Health and Adult Social Care
- Highways and Environment
- Housing and Residents Welfare
- Partnerships, Commercial and Best Practice
- Regeneration, Planning and Economic Investment
Councillor Qadar Zada, leader of the council, said:
I have revised the structure of the cabinet because I want our most senior politicians in the borough to be leading the priorities of our local residents.
At the heart of these changes are the people we serve.
We will bring a greater focus on community safety, our environment, supporting our most vulnerable residents and prioritising the welfare of every resident in the borough.
We will also be looking at the future which will be about generating more jobs for people of this borough, affordable housing, providing more opportunities for young people, and attracting business and investment.”
It is hoped the new cabinet portfolios – and the senior councillors appointed to them - will be introduced by Christmas, subject to being formally approved by the council.
