New dates for fostering information evenings

Dudley Council’s fostering team continues their online search this spring with new dates for information sessions.

The team will be continuing with their successful virtual information sessions for prospective foster carers with new dates announced for April and May.

The next session will take place at 6pm on Thursday 11 March and further sessions are scheduled for Thursday 1 and Tuesday 27 April and Thursday 20 May.

The hour-long information sessions are an opportunity for people to learn more about what fostering involves as well as busting some common myths.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear about the role of a foster carer, the children needing care and the skills and qualities needed to be a foster carer. It will also be a chance to meet some of the team and ask any questions.

The sessions will be hosted via Microsoft Teams and can be booked via www.fosteringindudley.org.uk

Councillor Ruth Buttery, cabinet member for children and young people, said:

Our virtual information sessions have been really successful, and I encourage anyone who is considering becoming a foster carer to attend one.
They are only an hour long so no matter where you are on your fostering journey the sessions are also an easy way for people to find out more in an informal, friendly environment without making any commitment.
We’re proud of our foster carers and are always happy to hear from anyone who feels they can offer a safe, caring and stable home to children looked after by Dudley borough.

Dudley fostering offers a rewarding career, with a range of fostering options, 24-hour support 365 days a year and comprehensive training and guidance.

People can find out more about fostering and future drop-in sessions by visiting www.fosteringindudley.org.uk emailing dudleycouncilplus@dudley.gov.uk or calling 01384 815833.
