Posted on:

Residents across Dudley borough are being reminded they can only have their say in this year’s local elections if they are registered to vote.

Thousands of people will be heading to the polls on May 5 to elect local councillors to act on their behalf at Dudley Council.

But people must be registered to be able to vote.

Registration takes less than five minutes but means people can have their say about how millions of pounds are spent on public services every year. People need their National Insurance number and date of birth when registering.

Kevin O’Keefe, Dudley Council chief executive and electoral returning officer, said:

It’s quick and simple to register to vote and means people can be part of the democratic process on May 5. There’s information on our website that will take people through that process.

The deadline for registering to vote is April 14.

More information on registering to vote is available at

People can also get the latest on the elections including deadlines and different ways of voting, by signing up for free emails. People can register at
