Sign up now for extra garden waste collections
Borough residents can now book six extra fortnightly green waste collections between November and March, thanks to an expansion of the service.
The extra collections are available for just £30 to order from today (Tue) at www.dudley.gov.uk/chargeable-garden-waste.
They will start after the usual free fortnightly collections – which run from spring to autumn – finish.
The additional paid-for collections will continue to be made fortnightly.
Bins will be emptied on the usual collection day, with the six extra collections taking place between November and March next year.
The expansion follows the success of a trial last year when more than 1,000 households bought two additional collections in November and December.
Councillor Rob Clinton, cabinet member for waste management and climate change, said:
Following the success of the couple of extra collections last autumn we took the decision to offer an even better opportunity this time, with six additional fortnightly collections throughout winter.
I’m sure this will be popular with residents who enjoy gardening throughout the year, providing them with a convenient way to dispose of their garden waste.
We will continue to provide our free 32-week collection service irrespective of whether people opt in for these extra collections or not.
The extra collections are also available to residents who have an additional brown-lidded garden bin.
