This season’s free outdoor band concerts programme has been announced.

Himley Hall

The summer shows will be staged at Stevens Park, Quarry Bank, Mary Stevens Park, Stourbridge and Himley Hall and Park.

Sets for the summer include Black Country String Band on 10 June, Cleobury Mortimer Concert Brass on 1 July and Black Country Brass Band on 12 August, all at Stevens Park, Quarry Bank.

At Mary Stevens Park there will be three performances, these are AD Concert Band on 15 July, Madi Stimpson Trio on 29 July and Jazz on Tap on 2 September. Visitors can enjoy a stroll around the park and youngsters can splash about in the water play area. The Mary Stevens Coffee Lounge (No 92) at Mary Stevens Park will be open for business with its summer opening hours of 8am – 6pm, seven days a week during the summer.

Himley Hall and Park will be hosting five concerts. These are Alverley Village Band on 3 June, Black Country Brass Band on 24 June, BJ Concert Band on 22 July, AD Concert Band on 5August and Out of the Blue Big Band on 26August.

Councillor Patrick Harley, leader of Dudley Council, said:

These concerts are always really popular and add an extra dimension to a day out in one of our parks.
Families are welcome, and it’s a great way to make the most of a summers day with a stroll, a picnic and a concert.

Visitors to the parks can enjoy the music in the open air, and make the most of all the facilities that the parks have to offer, including the new coffee lounge and exhibition programme at Himley. The coffee lounge is open 11am to 4pm, Wednesday to Sunday.

All concerts run 2.30 – 5.30pm and are free. Car parking charges apply at Himley.
