Town hall to go blue and green for key workers

Posted on:

Dudley Town Hall will be lit up in blue and green tonight (Thursday 23 April) in support of the ‘Clap for Carers’ initiative.

Borough residents are encouraged once again to open their doors and windows at 8pm and applaud to show their appreciation of key workers who continue to deliver essential services in the fight against coronavirus.

The Dudley Council-run town hall on St James’s Road will also mark the efforts of those on the frontline when it is lit blue and green for the evening thanks to specialist lighting firm JSES Ltd (John Smith Entertainment Services Ltd.) who will install the lighting system for free in support of the national campaign.

Councillor Ian Kettle, cabinet member responsible for halls, said:

This evening will mark the fifth week of the nationwide Clap for Carers and I would encourage all the residents in the borough to join in at 8pm and show our dedicated frontline staff how much we all appreciate their dedication.
We must all do our part in tackling this virus by following government guidelines on social distancing in order to protect our key workers and help save lives
