Scores of casual jobs – including dinnerladies, lifeguards and gardeners - are going at a recruitment fair being held by the council tomorrow.
The casual work recruitment fair is being held at Dudley Archives and Local History Centre in Tipton Road on Tuesday (13nov) from 2pm to 6.30pm.
Prospective applicants are advised to bring along their CV and qualifications on the day if possible.
Jobs are available as casual assistants at Dudley, Halesowen and Crystal Leisure Centres. Positions include lifeguards, swimming instructors, receptionists and cleaners.
There are also vacancies for museum assistants, covering front of house duties at the Red House Glass Cone in Wordsley and museum events at Dudley Museum and Art Gallery.
Bosses at Himley Hall are looking for casual staff to work both weekends and weekdays, with day and evening shifts available. Positions include working in the south wing coffee lounge and front of house.
There are also jobs going for temporary horticultural labourers, with training available in carrying out general ground maintenance and gardening duties.
Dinnerladies (catering assistants) are also being sought at schools all across the borough. Experience is not necessary and a uniform will be provided, with all hours during school days.
Councillor Keiran Casey, cabinet member for regeneration and enterprise, said:
As a council we will always look to do all we can to help people into work.
At this time of year, with Christmas just around the corner, lots of people are looking at ways to earn a bit of extra money.
These casual vacancies could be a great way of doing just that, and we would urge people to come along and have a look at what is on offer.”
